ARTYLOGICA
the aim of my research and artistic practice — shaped through years of performing and collaborating with international choreographers — is to generate the right question that each artist is searching for. i am not interested in giving answers; the search itself is the essence of every artist’s journey. to uncover these questions, i guide participants through physical and theatrical explorations that activate different capacities of the body — from grounded, powerful movement to guided improvisations rooted in physical theatre. together, we discover new pathways to expand our movement vocabulary and creative expression. my interest lies in observing and transforming habits and limitations, breaking through them to reveal new possibilities. partner and group work become essential tools for exploring the unknown, supported by the discipline and awareness that martial arts bring to my research. the workshop investigates both the technical and expressive dimensions of movement — exploring dynamics, spatial and architectural awareness, and the body’s relationship to its environment. a key focus is the exploration of physical states and theatrical presence, moving beyond form to embody emotion, intention and transformation.

biography
after many years of dancing and touring with several choreographers such as jan fabre, sidi larbi cherkaoui, damien jalet, akram khan and romeo castellucci, she started to develop her own personal research, influenced by the different dance techniques and martial arts she had been training with. she began her career as a creator in 2013 while being a resident artist in swatch art peace hotel shanghai; while there she created a dance video (closer) that was shown in biennale of venice 2015. in 2017 she choreographed and danced in the film beautiful things, which premiered in festival of cinema of venice and won several prizes. she created a site-specific solo called 088, which was presented in belgium, italy, macedonia, mexico and spain. while she was an associate artist of dejadonne she created a duo called in pasto al pubblico together with the jazz pianist simone graziano, and another duo called 365 together with andrea valfre’. she teaches and gives workshops around the world and in different well-known international festivals under the title artylogica, and she is a regular teacher for the most prestigious professional international dance schools (parts, sead, pera, la faktoria). together with andrea valfre’ she is a co-founder of the ki-contact technique that led them to choreograph for the european capital of culture 2022 a show called mikado. she continues to be a freelance choreographer for commissioned works from various dance companies around the world.
